Following military discharge, USAF, I worked for the Phelps-Dodge Mining Corporation’s joint EPA Environmental Laboratory, Tucson, AZ, then transferred to the company’s flagship copper production site (Morenci, AZ). Initially a Production Chemist involved with Analytical Methodology Update, I became Project Chemist, tasked with development of analytical production accountability for the new multibillion-dollar Solvent Extraction-Electrowinning (SX-EW) Plant.
With my second career, I began Assisted ElderCare Placements, became lead researcher in a privately funded Alzheimer’s correction program, and formed Gums Per…, involving distribution of gums (hydrocolloids) and recipe development within the international food industry. In this capacity, I provided ‘Chapter 4; Hydrocolloids in Bakery Products’, within ‘Hydrocolloids in Food Processing’, Wiley-Blackwell; 2011 edition.
Additionally, was a prolonged association with the Alzheimer’s Association, to include membership within various leadership and fundraising Committees, and concurrent membership with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ ‘Senior and Aging Issues Advisory Council.’
